"The News Has A Way Of Closing In On Popular Culture"

Good article in March 20, 2007 NY Times about how current and recent wars have been represented on TV.

Why is it a good article?

Because it agrees with me! Sad but true: TV isn't just our mirror...it is also our leader.

Dear A & M,

Very thought provoking post. Thanks!

I totally agree with it all. I wish we could just "enjoy?" tv as tv, but it unfortunately does go too far with some? many? people? Doesn't it?

So do we shut it all down? Not sure. What do you think?

I'd be ok with that if necessary. This world is something else isn't it?!!

Have a good one. LPK

I don't think we can shut it down or out...but we can question it.

(Even while are obsessed with, um, I mean, enjoy it.)

My thoughts, I guess!

Hello Everyone. My partner at work doesn't own a TV. I think that is really cool. He and his family do watch movie, but they use the computer. Occassionally, the borrow a TV for special events, like the Olympics and when the Iraq war broke out. Sometimes I toy with the idea of giving it up for a month, well maybe a week. :-)
