Previously on 24... Jack is getting checked out by the medics and they determine that he was electrocuted and his brains were missing when he used his gun on the electrical panel in the Russian Consulate.
No wait, that is what should have happened, instead they discover that he has probable internal bleeding. Will that stop our Jack, NO! Thank goodness.
He goes over Audrey's file. Soon he will realize that it isn't her (innie vs. outie). Maybe that will be day 7. When going Jack is going to medical, he runs in to Marilyn who has regretted that things didn't work out between them differently. Smouldery glances are exchanged.
Chloe warns Milo and Nadia about Nadia using Milo's security clearance. We at The 24 Blog are left wandering when we are going to find out whether or not Nadia is evil or stupid. Chloe only gives them a very stern warning and lets them keep going with what they are doing.
The drone is still in the air and CTU loses it, making the Evil Veep very angry. The Evil Veep also wants to retaliate on a country that really doesn't seem to have anything to do with this whole mess. Karen returns from the airport after abandoning her post. She has had a blow dry and read several magazines (O, Real Simple, Yoga Journal -- Bill is a yogi!) at the airport. Which still surprises us: there were commercial flights on a day where there was a nuke that went off, but I digress. Karen is back in the picture and she is going to protect our 28-year-old president's interests.
Milo is worried about Morris and thinks that he has been drinking. He asked Chloe to check Morris' breath and she does so by planting a big ol' smoocher right on the smacker. When Morris asks what that was for, she states that she was just checking his breath. I found this very funny, tongue in cheek, if you will. She tells Milo that Morris is just fine.
Shortly thereafter, Chloe discovers that the drone pilot has a mole INSIDE CTU.. Say it isn't so Chloe!!!! They trace it back to Nadia's workstation of course and we were hopeful for another medical interrogation by Doyle. He is no Jack and doesn't pull it off. Here is where I was left wandering if she was an innocent pawn of Milo. I think that he has something going on ....
They get the address of the drone pilot's location and Jack gets a PDA and a phone, and is on Point with his internal bleeding with Doyle as his wing man. I think that he decided that he can bleed internally on his day off. Jack saves the day, mostly by using skills honed in the shopping mall arcade in the early 80s. The drone is landed but they have some radioactive leakage. The first responders have a Geiger counter, but no protective gear on.
The evil Veep orders the nucular strike on the country even though Karen AND Tom agree that it was an averted attack. The Evil VEEP disagrees. Karen finds out that if they bring the Prez out of the coma they can cancel the retaliatory attack. She goes to find the Prez's sister. Yes Sandra is back, but where is Walid?
"A" Did I miss anything?
"A" says:
Imagine any world leader wanting to retaliate against a country that has nothing to do with an attack! Imagine that. The only other thing is that the creepy ex-President Logan appears to be dead.
I feel a need to elaborate on Jack's response to the smoldery glances between Marilyn and him...didn't he have regret about things not working out differently, too? (Even though the historical probability of working out neatly for Jack, Marilyn and Bauer Spawn offers me some timing difficulties, since around the time Jack's nephew/son was born, Jack would have been married to the gullible but not evil Teri, and the stupid but not evil Kim would have been a mere toddler. Not just timing difficulties, but what about time machine type of considerations: if Jack had dumped Teri for Rena, I mean Marilyn, there would have been no season 1!) But I digress. Jack forgets all of the smoldering and the math in his enragement about Audrey's "death".
Oh, yeah, and I'm fine with showing our world leaders as incompetent boobs, but there isn't a first responder in the country who would have gone near that firey downed drone with just a geiger counter, and clipboard, and not even wearing any gear. (The guy with the geiger counter was just wearing a shirt!) Is it too much to ask that the writers at 24 show a little respect?
(Although, in the final analysis, other than Jack, is there anyone the writers do seem to respect?)

Only that, inexplicably, Rena, I mean Marilyn is the one to tell Jack that Audrey is supposedly dead.
What is up with that?
You are so right! That was just off the charts rude!!! She had no business being the one that gets to tell Jack that! Ok, deep cleansing breath.
Loved the re-cap. Unfortunately I feel I need them this season, as my mind seems to be wandering, just ever so slightly when it's on. AAAAGGGHHH!!!!! Need MORE Jack!!
Time for another cleansing breath.
Catch ya all tomorrow night! LPK
I can't join you tonight cos we don't see it here yet but LOVE the re-cap and will be reading what you've all written while watching the show... albeit a couple of days late!!
ENJOY!!
& lpk.... lots of cleansing breaths please
ps Kiefer Kiefer Kiefer
Two things:
The Fire guy in the shirt was a commander of some sort too! In our little burg, when the Chief goes out on a call, usually for a large house fire, he wears his protective gear!
And LPK & KeifersKate.... I, "m" aka relibbed, working mom :-), have always thought that Keifer was handsome. Okay back to work with me!
Yes, "M" thinks that Kiefer is a babe.
As previously noted, I go more for the swarthy balding terrorist types. (And many of the terrorists on Sleeper Cell are also cute!)
Thanks for your notes, ladies! It is more fun to watch with more people! (I think that our families think we're a little odd...although "M"'s DH does watch with us, even though he pretends not to be watching!) (And I can tell, even though we are in different regions of the country!!!)
