Bauer Yoga: Anantasana

Here's Jack, in a preparatory variation for the pose Anantasana. It's a nice side stretch, helps to develop balance, and is accessible to yogis at all levels.

You can see how relaxed he is, too. That's another benefit of yoga!

Here's the full pose, beautifully and precisely shown by one of the yogis of East Clare Yoga, in County Clare, Ireland.

OMG!!! I have seen this picture before, but never did I really associate it with yoga!

I now have the most perfect thing to "uuummmm" on!

Thank you so much for making yoga that much more accessible to me!

P.S. I posted on my blog today. If you read it, you'll see why this pose may be extremely "timely"to me! Thanks! LPK

OMG! It's almost Monday!!

Being a Kiefer fan I'd almost consider taking up yoga if I could sit and look at that all day?!

Ladies, I have to recommend yoga for just about any reason! Great for recovering from, for example, hip injuries.

And it is accessible for everyone, as Jack, I mean Kiefer, can show us. If you look at photos of the poses in yoga books, it can seem impossible to "attain" the.

But that's not the point. It is meant to be for everyone, not just the super bendy!

Be well ladies. Thanks for stopping by on a non-24 day!!!

well I'm back.

I've been re-reading some of your posts to get an idea which one of you is "A" and which is "M" aka relibbed, Free10007, yoga teacher, working mom???!!!! aaaggghhh!!!! I give up!!!

I have elaborate flow sheets, charts, diagrams, venn diagrams, pie charts and I even tried a Mendallian Square (didn't work), but no luck! Too many variables to match up!!

Therefore, I'll have to address you "collectively". You can sort it out on your end. Thanks.

I am truly inspired by Kief...I mean free10007 to try some more yoga. I will suggest to Kieferskate while in NYC, we go to a nice drop in Yoga studio on W.76th street. I've been there once before and enjoyed it.

They have another (actually several I'm sure on that block. Feels very yogish there) one where I believe they are into "sweating". The windows are always steamed up and the people look very hot and sweaty. What's that about?

I tried Kiefer's pose there a little. Will need more ibuprofen and muscle relaxant, but my hobby hip is coming along!

I send much peace and look forward to tomorrow night! ciao! LPK

"A" is the yoga teacher, that is me. (Although "M" is a yogi, too!)

You've clearly raised a yogi in your son, too..."hobby hip" is so positive. It isn't a "bad" hip!!!

Tons of places to take a nice yoga class in NYC. Enjoy!

(And the steamy window yoga studio is probably a Bikram, or "hot" yoga, studio. They heat the room to 100 degrees F. I've done a lot of that, and it has many benefits...especially for newbies. More on Bikram yoga at www.bikramyoga.com)
