Jack's holding a woman hostage, but telling her not to be scared. Hmmm. He seems to mean it.
What is going on with Martha? Is she subverting the 24 rule that all women have to be either stupid or evil? There is only one loophole: they can be crazy. (Although I would say that Nina was crazy and evil; that combo is also allowed.)
I have to say, Jean Smart looks great! She isn't too airbrushed, she looks like a TV version of a real 50-something woman.

He is so tender, but yet can be brutal (eg Jackula). I like Martha's "institution". I want that to be my house and that type of living has been agreeing with her. I agree she is beautiful.
