Bauer Yoga: Malasana

In homage to the hilarious Bush Yoga, I've been trolling the web for photos of Jack in yoga poses. Here he is in malasana, or garland pose.

If Jack were to put a rolled towel or blanket beheath his heels, he'd be as beautifully grounded as this yogini, and he'd be able to stretch his spine taller. (This would be a good counter to carrying the man purse, which drags one shoulder down.)

Hello,

Loved the yoga stuff. I've done it a bit. Good stuff. Will get back to it soon I hope. I'm trying to improve my meditation ability. I'm not one for sitting quiet for long!

Ok, so there is a very real reason Land Of the Blind went straight to video. Different kind of sci. fi. movie? Not really sure. Papa Jack was good in it. However, my heart still belongs to Kiefer. This movie will not be on my shelf long.

Keep the faith. LPK

Hi, LPK! Yoga is meditation! one practice feeds the other. Yoga helps to calm the body (and also to learn when it is okay with not being calm), which goes a long way to being able to sit in meditation.

And in all seriousness (and veering away from some of the lighter vein of the blog) yoga is actively used to work with veterans and first responders to address post-traumatic stress disorder.

Thanks also for your thoughts on Land of the Blind. I guess I'll leave it off my netflix queue!

Be well!

Hey M and A,

Definitely put Land of the Blind at the very bottom of your queue!

I'm still trying to meditate, gravitate, whatever - It's All Good! (Have you all visited my blog yet? Google itsallgoodlpk and I should come up. Leave a quick shout if you feel like it!

You probably won't believe this, but I was a paramedic for almost 10 years (Now a Physician Assistant). I Have suffered from probable PTSD on at least one very bad occasion involving a house fire and several burned, dead kids. Enough said about that! It was a rough one. The fire, police, EMS, and hospital staff all underwent voluntary PTSD treatment/debriefing for that one.
I don't recall if they talked about meditation to us. It may have helped, once your nerves settle down?

I'm homeschooling my kids and haven't worked as a PA in about 5 years, therefore, hopefully won't go through another one of those incidents any time soon!

Well we're almost back to The Jack Bauer Power Hour night (I also get Eddie Izzard following Jack! Double bonus!!!)

You guys enjoy the show and I'll check out your commentary! Cheers! LPK

LPK, have visited your blog (and I left you a comment!)

In Massachusetts, a group in West Boylston works with the VA to help address PTSD in veterans...

I am so sorry about the house fire. We have lost children in some terrible apartment fires in NYC this winter (space heaters, ovens being used to heat cold apartments) and it has been difficult for first responders. A good reminder for everyone to check their fire alarm batteries.
