Okay wait a minute!!!

In the first 15 minutes, the hubby tried to post, but had some issues with the blog site. But when I saw what he was going to post about... oh my goodness. Jack totally killed himself by taking his METAL gun and hitting in the electrical panel. Has anyone else here ever heard that metal is a great conductor? Jack should be toast!

Lost My Last Post!

Having some computer issues, no doubt due to the cleanup period after Mercury retrograde!

Martha, crazy but not stupid, didn't want to be blowed up.

Ricky Schroeder and Jack encounter one another for the first time. (On 24 at least. They must have been in something together at some point in the 80s.)

So what is the upshot of the whole thing? The whole thread of the dysfunctional Bauer family has been dropped for now. We don't know why the Russians and Chinese are all of a sudden the bad guys.

Are there any good guys on 24? Our own government is riddled with corrupt people who behave in truly evil ways. It is only the solid work of Jack and his cohorts that keeps things together. The really good guys like Aaron are also a credit to this fine TV version of our nation.

I heard a Podcast today about an article in NRDC's On Earth magazine about people doing good works in the Second Life online community. (Metaverse?) It is a place where people create avatars and live online lives. A psychologist interviewed posited that participants are choosing to live their best lives online via Second Life. While some of this has to do with everyone wanting to be better looking, there are also people creating wildlife refuges and other good works.

One of the points of the story is that if people are spending time 40 hours a month online in Second Life, how will they do good works in real life? At least they are doing something positive somewhere! If someone is nice to you in Second Life, you probably won't log off and kick the dog.

It occurs to me that this is a valuable counter to TV, which is coming to represent so much that isn't so nice about us. (We have a TV running 18 hours a day in our kitchen at work, ostensibly on approved financial channels (since it is a bank)...sometimes it is tuned to Fox News and I just have to switch the channel to CNBC for a breath of fresh air!)

But I digress.

Oh yeah. List:

"Dammit" = 1
Perimeter = 1 (the Russians)
Jack's in a WOP = 1 (when he was holding the Russian chick hostage)
Black men dead today = 0 (that we know of, it is tough to tell who the Russians killed)
Significant smolderly glances = 0
Presidential Assasination Attempts = 1
True pause to wonder: stupid or evil = 0 (we know the evil Veep's Blonde Toady is evil, too)
Commercial venues proven to still be open for business after a nucular explosion = 1 (Martha's grocery store)

And why are the terrorists always so darn good looking! ??? (Except for Gradenko. He's not my type. I like the clean close shave of a Fayed.)

Neither "M" nor her DH made an appearance tonight. And wait a minute, that's not fair! How can she write next week's "Previously on 24" post? (I mean, she did TiVO it. I guess she can watch later...)

Rick Schoeder is Going to Save Jack

OH no, I accidently deleted your photo!! I'm sorry! Darn mercury retrograde or my careless fingers dammit! :-)

M Writes 10 PM CDT:

"A" that is Macauly Culkin not Ricky Scroeder. This is

But at any rate, we are aging SO much better than Ricky! He is looking a lot older than his almost 37 years!!!!!!! His birthday is April 13, but I have feeling that he won't be at CTU much longer.

Previously on 24

"M" and I got kicked off of Blogger last week, no doubt due more to Mercury retrograde than to my habit of creating pithy and witty one-sentence posts.

Mea culpa.

Exactly what Jack is thinking, since his Dad has caused him to think that he has killed Grae. The ladies at CTU are telling Bill that Jack pushed the medical interrogation protocols. And in fact, by the end of the 2 hours, Jack is telling Bill...do your worst, I don't want this covered up.

Since CTU left Grae unsupervised after Jack pushed the protocols, I can't trust that they will discover Jack's dad's fingerprints on the syringe.

Rena is mad, but not too mad. She and Jack go on a field trip to find a house she supposedly stalked Grae to when she was gathering evidence on him. She makes the mistake of telling Jack's dad, and Jack's dad kidnaps Bauer Spawn, and then blackmails Rena into taking Jack to a house that blows up.

Ok, this is one story arc.

The evil hookery chick and the guy with the Wisconsin accent have Morris, and are taking him to Fayed for a supposed $7 million payment. Morris manipulates her, and she shoots Wisconsin boy in the head and pushes him out of the truck. But Morris isn't that good. Instead of taking Morris back to CTU, she figures on negotiating with Fayed. He ultimately offs her. (Evil hookery chick, for those of you keeping score: evil and stupid.)

Jack rescues Morris, who has given the terrorists some device that arms all of the other suitcase nukes. Jack and Chloe disarm one of the suitcases with seconds to spare, Chloe reading the manual back at CTU. (This is how one of the help desk people tried to help me with a Lotus Notes problem I had a while back, too. Thank goodness there was no suitcase nuke at my office! On so many levels.)

Mr. Chloe is feeling sorry for himself for not building a self-destruct program into the nukes. (Hello, can you say "back door"?) Chloe tells him to buck up and get his ass back to work.

Karen's still on the plane to LA to get blowed up with Bill. (And what is up with Bill this season? He has no backbone, no integrity or leadership skills. Did Karen have him fixed over this past 2 years?)

"M" says that Milo and Rena's life are in the balance, but I don't remember why.

Honestly, isn't 2 hours of 24 a bit much for anyone to take? (Although a colleague who travels to work up in the NY area from his home in Atlanta doesn't go home every weekend. He spent one weekend watching an entire season of 24. I thought this was risky; maybe he'd snap someone's neck for sport when he arrived at the office on Monday...but no problem there. That I know of.)

Oh yeah, Chad Lowe is the Evil Veep's toady, and they are manipulating Tom/Numbers guy into participating in some kind of "removal" of Principal Wood, I mean the 28 year old President.

Or are they? Is Tom pretending to be a really bad guy (instead of just a cultural and fiscal "conservative"...I mean fascist) in order to uncover the plot behind the prospective "removal" of the President?

Still no sign of Jack's mom. She's probably going to turn out to have a chainsaw for a hand, like Lena Olin in Romeo is Bleeding...or maybe Lena will turn out to be his mom! (Although she's a bit young. My money is still on Karen.)

OK, "M", take it away.

Phil needs a good hostage

That is why he wants to go back to his house!!!!!

Morris you will get back to tickety boo. Ooo slap! You made me do it. Morris get your head out of your @$$ and get back to work. I hope that Chloe doesn't mind me paraphrasing for her.

Well, it looks like we have filled up our blog for the day. It won't let us post any more. I think it has to do with Mercury Retrograde!!

854 The hubby thinks that the house is going to blow up! Where is Milo going (how did he get to the scene so fast). The Hubby says... appaently UPS has an urgent delivery!

I agree with "A" on the phone, she said the previews were almost as good as the whole show tonight. Jaaaaaccckkk

Now from "A"...I'm back, and I'm mad. Not really, what do I want for free? Thanks, blogger. It really is a great service.

But the loss of service came at a critical time. We missed Rena talking to Jack about their "issues" 20 years ago (which gets me all itchy about the timeline again).

Buzzkill of having your father in law kidnap your son when you're trying to renew your ties with your old boyfriend...

Is Milo going to die protecting Rena?

Splitscreen montage!

Next week, I won't post so often, it was my fault...
